Six days after I had my abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery, a Canica representative provided SutureSafe for my large, stapled incision. The incision went from my chest to 6 inches below my navel, and after the operation I experienced an uncomfortable "pulling" sensation along the incision line.

Once the SutureSafe was applied down the entire length of the incision I had a feeling of confidence and protection. Movement while walking or sleeping was easier and less painful, as the elastics kept the incision tension-free and more comfortable.

I wore them for 11 - 12 days until the staples were removed. During that time, I replaced them with new ones every second day. When shown to my GP, they seemed to leave a positive impression as my doctor had never seen such an apparatus and thought they were quite ingenious. I continued to wear them for a couple days after the staples were removed, just to make sure the skin stayed closed.
